Boat Captain

Role Overview

Rafeeg is seeking a skilled and seasoned Houseboat Captain to oversee the safe running of a premium houseboat in Abu Dhabi. This position carries end-to-end responsibility for vessel safety, day-to-day upkeep, and delivering an excellent guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maneuver the houseboat safely while complying with UAE maritime rules.
• Carry out safety checks before departure and confirm that all required safety gear is functioning properly.
• Handle regular maintenance inspections and arrange repairs whenever needed.
• Keep the boat neat, well-organized, and ready to receive guests at all times.
• Greet guests, brief them on safety procedures, and provide a high-quality hospitality experience onboard.
• Decide routes by considering weather conditions, tides, and operational needs.
• Record voyages, maintenance activity, and fuel usage accurately.
• Follow maritime regulations and company operating procedures at all times.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid UAE Boat Captain or Marine License.
• Prior hands-on experience operating boats or houseboats is required.
• Good understanding of Abu Dhabi waters and local maritime laws is essential.
• Strong communication abilities and customer-facing skills are needed.
• English fluency is required; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• Candidate should be dependable, professional, and committed to safety.
• Availability for weekends, public holidays, and changing work schedules is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Background in hospitality, yacht charter, or luxury tourism.
• Basic ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
