Role Overview

The Clearing and Logistics Officer position, based in Lusaka, offers a full-time role with a hybrid work arrangement that permits performing some responsibilities remotely. The officer will coordinate all clearing and forwarding activities, maintain shipment documentation, and ensure adherence to customs and regulatory standards.

Key Duties

• Planning and overseeing the movement of goods and materials.
• Coordinating with warehouses, transport providers, and clients to ensure smooth logistics operations.
• Updating systems and records to accurately track inventory and shipment status.
• Collaborating with internal teams to resolve delays and monitoring delivery schedules.
• Maintaining detailed reports on logistics activities and operational performance.
• Supporting administrative tasks related to logistics and documentation.
• Generating periodic operational summaries.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize the supply chain.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in logistics management and supply chain coordination to optimize goods movement.
• Experience managing inventory control and warehouse operations to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient handling.
• Strong administrative capabilities to maintain documentation and support communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail for accuracy in records and data.
• Effective verbal and written communication to work collaboratively across teams and with partners.
• Competence in office software and logistics-related IT systems; familiarity with ERP or inventory management software is advantageous.
• Relevant diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related fields.
• Professional certifications in logistics or supply chain are beneficial.
• A minimum of five years' experience in clearing, forwarding, or logistics roles, preferably within inspection or compliance-driven environments.
