Role Overview
As the Clinical Informatics Lead at Curely AI, you will serve as the essential clinical authority ensuring that all AI models delivered are clinically sound, safe, and impactful. This position operates at the crossroads of clinical medicine, data analytics, and product development to influence the practical application of AI in healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and assume responsibility for clinical evaluation frameworks for AI tools prior to release.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, researchers, and machine learning engineers to review clinical model output and identify edge cases.
- Establish safety protocols for clinical use and oversee post-deployment surveillance to maintain standards.
- Inform the product development plan by integrating scientific literature and clinical data insights.
- Represent the company in clinical advisory capacities, including health system collaborations and board participation.
- Lead, support, and develop a team of clinical informaticians and data analysts.
Qualifications and Experience
- Medical degree or equivalent clinical qualification (MD, DO, PharmD, or similar).
- Minimum of five years’ experience in clinical informatics within a healthcare setting or relevant tech organization.
- Proficient analytical skills paired with comprehensive knowledge of clinical data standards such as ICD-10, SNOMED, and LOINC.
- Proven expertise evaluating AI and machine learning algorithms for clinical safety and effectiveness.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills tailored to diverse clinical and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Extras
- Certification from AMIA or HIMSS organizations.
- Experience preparing regulatory filings such as FDA SaMD or CE marks.
- Background in clinical research methodologies or evidence-based medicine.
- Familiarity with data analytic programming languages like Python or R.
Compensation and Location
This role offers a competitive salary with equity participation; specifics will be shared during the hiring process. The position is based onsite in Gayaza, Western Region, Uganda.
