Position Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Tutor to join our academic team at the HANZ Auckland Central Campus. This full-time, permanent role involves supporting learners enrolled in the Diploma of Enrolled Nursing (Level 5), facilitating both classroom instruction and clinical placement guidance. The Clinical Tutor will help students apply theoretical knowledge practically, develop critical nursing skills, and meet Nursing Council competencies for registration. Collaboration with clinical placement coordinators and workplace preceptors is key to ensuring effective learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction via in-person and online formats.
- Guide clinical learning within real-world healthcare settings alongside preceptors.
- Assist learners to achieve academic and clinical requirements.
- Assess student readiness for Nursing Council final examinations.
- Participate in curriculum development and program enhancement initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with clinical partners to uphold high-quality placement standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Current Registered or Enrolled Nurse with a valid New Zealand Practising Certificate.
- Post-registration or postgraduate qualification in nursing or related health field.
- At least 5 years' recent nursing experience within New Zealand clinical environments.
- Experience in supervising or supporting learners during clinical placements.
- Adult teaching qualification preferred; willingness to obtain within two years of employment is acceptable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cultural responsiveness.
- Familiarity with Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Kaupapa Māori, mātauranga Māori, and tikanga is essential.
- Previous tertiary or vocational teaching experience preferred.
- Possession of a valid New Zealand driver's licence.
