Position Overview
This role entails working full-time onsite in Doha, Qatar as a Coding for Kids Part Time Trainer. The trainer will be responsible for crafting and presenting coding lessons tailored specifically for children, employing suitable programming tools and concepts to nurture fundamental skills in problem-solving and logical reasoning.
Key Duties
- Develop detailed lesson plans and instructional materials suitable for young learners.
- Deliver interactive classroom sessions that encourage hands-on coding projects.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with the Edoxi academic team to refine and enhance the curriculum content.
- Engage with parents or guardians as necessary to communicate student progress.
- Keep accurate records regarding student performance and attendance.
- Stay updated on best practices in education and emerging coding technologies relevant to children.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Solid grasp of fundamental programming concepts and familiarity with kid-friendly languages such as Scratch, block-based coding platforms, or beginner Python.
- Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring children or adolescents, with strong classroom management and ability to design interactive lessons.
- Exceptional verbal communication, presentation skills, and interpersonal abilities to foster a respectful and supportive classroom.
- Strong organizational and time-management capabilities to handle lesson planning, schedule coordination, and progress tracking.
- Proficiency with educational technology tools, digital interactive platforms, and basic learning management systems.
- Academic credentials in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or related fields; additional certifications in coding or teaching are beneficial.
- Patience, creativity, enthusiasm for working with kids, and dedication to child-safe teaching methodologies.
- Experience in STEM education settings, coding bootcamps, or after-school tech programs is preferred; curriculum development experience is an asset.
