Role Overview
This position demands senior leadership to oversee construction projects, ensuring that execution aligns with contractual and organizational goals. The role involves strategizing and managing construction activities, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and execution of construction activities, aligning with approved scopes and company objectives.
- Develop and supervise construction schedules in partnership with project and planning teams.
- Manage daily site operations, monitor milestone progress, and respond promptly to delays or issues.
- Coordinate effectively among engineering and on-site teams to ensure smooth progress.
- Resolve technical and constructability challenges collaboratively with consultants and engineering experts.
- Ensure timely preparation, submission, and approval of construction documents and method statements.
- Oversee procurement activities, including purchase requests and evaluation of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure mobilization of manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors as required by projects.
- Optimize resource use to meet cost and productivity targets.
- Serve as the senior construction liaison for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities.
- Manage construction correspondence, instructions, clarifications, and variations alongside the Project Manager.
- Exert strong leadership to control staff and site teams with direct coordination among Project Management, Planning, and Quantity Surveying.
- Ensure strict compliance with quality management systems, health, safety, and environmental policies, including readiness for audits and inspections.
- Promote a robust safety culture and enforce safe work practices consistently.
- Lead and mentor construction teams and subcontractor staff, fostering a high-performance environment.
- Adhere to and promote company health, safety, and environmental regulations; stay up to date with relevant policies.
- Comply with Basatin's information security policies, including security awareness training and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as PMP and FM are preferred; construction or project management certifications are advantageous.
- Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) training or certifications are a plus.
- 6 to 8 years of construction project experience, with at least 2 years in management or leadership roles.
- Proven competence in construction planning, execution, and site operations.
- Strong leadership and personnel management capabilities to direct multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Deep knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and constructability.
- Sound understanding of contract administration, quality standards, HSE regulations, and legal compliance.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and risk management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Effective time management and adaptability to perform under pressure.
- Proficiency in computers, reporting tools, presentations, and record-keeping.
