About the Role
Foxtel Group seeks a Creative Studio Lead to spearhead the creative efforts behind Sports Social content, which captivates audiences and drives engagement across platforms like Kayo and Fox Sports. This leadership position blends hands-on content creation with strategic team management. As a creative visionary, you will guide a team of Creative Producers, set high standards for creative output, and oversee production of key sports content. You will also contribute to the growth of Foxtel's in-house Brand Studio and occasionally assist with entertainment content for Binge.
Primary Responsibilities
- Establish and uphold the creative direction and quality for Hero and Hub content on Kayo and Fox Sports platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Creative Producers to deliver compelling content.
- Create and maintain the studio’s operational rhythm along with a scalable library of content formats.
- Recruit and manage creative talent, including casual workers, in alignment with the sports calendar.
- Oversee concept development and production for Kayo’s Hero campaigns and evolve weekly Hub content formats.
- Incorporate subscription, broadcast, and programming messages naturally to prioritize audience experience.
- Coordinate with the creator team to enhance reach and meet acquisition and retention objectives.
- Direct Creative Producers in various sports code pods such as Footy, League, Cricket, and Motorsport.
- Personally take charge of specific sports codes, producing Hero and Hub content hands-on daily.
- Plan talent shoots strategically and explore opportunities for broadcast crossovers.
- Contribute to building Foxtel’s Brand Studio by translating brand briefs into authentic social content.
- Collaborate with creator teams to align talent with briefs ensuring content authenticity without feeling commercial.
- Maintain brand-quality standards for Brand Studio content equivalent to Hero and Hub output.
- Manage unified production schedules and resource plans across Kayo and Fox Sports.
- Develop and nurture relationships with talent and manage creator and production partnerships.
- Support Binge initiatives when needed while ensuring core responsibilities remain uncompromised.
- Provide leadership visibility around project pipelines, resource allocation, and risks.
Experience & Skills Required
- Proficient in shooting and editing using smartphones and professional camera/gimbal equipment.
- Hands-on experience with editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end production planning, including logistics, crew management, access coordination, and content delivery.
- Thorough understanding of native content styles across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and X.
- Keen sense of trends, formats, sounds, and memes, with the ability to adapt them for sports and entertainment audiences.
- Strong capabilities in scripting, storyboarding, and developing scalable creative concepts and formats.
- Experience directing on-camera talent, presenters, and creators effectively.
- Data-driven approach utilizing content performance metrics to iteratively improve output.
- Proven leadership in managing and developing creative teams while balancing production participation and oversight.
