Job Overview

Join JPMorgan Chase as a Data Scientist based in Jersey City, NJ, working full-time onsite. This role involves working closely with various business units to extract and transform data using complex SQL queries, develop and troubleshoot reports, and analyze meaningful data trends to support decision-making and improve customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract, transform, and manipulate data across multiple sources using advanced SQL.
• Document and clarify reporting requirements in collaboration with business partners.
• Create, update, and test reports and stored procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Resolve issues related to production reporting efficiently.
• Identify and highlight significant patterns and trends within datasets and reporting outputs.
• Act as a data expert, validating and recommending data sources to support business needs.
• Provide insights and advice on data-driven opportunities for operational efficiency and improved customer engagement.
• Collaborate proactively with teams from Operations, Technology, Finance, and Marketing to gather and integrate information.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Master's degree in Risk Management, Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in data science, strategic analysis, or similar roles.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in the specified fields with at least 3 years of applicable experience is acceptable.

Technical Skills and Domain Expertise

• Proficient in managing digital queues, pricing, and lifecycle processes of mortgage products.
• Advanced skills in manipulating and optimizing queries on large-scale datasets (millions to tens of millions of records) using SQL in platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server or Alteryx Designer.
• Capability to develop visualizations and dashboards using Excel, Python, and Tableau for communicating insights to senior leadership.
• Experience in end-to-end project delivery involving business requirements gathering, SQL development, and dashboard creation.
• Utilize Python for statistical analyses, including linear and logistic regression and outlier detection.
• Familiarity with mortgage products such as fixed-rate, adjustable-rate, government-backed (FHA, VA), and Jumbo loans.
• Knowledge of various mortgage process stages including contact, credit pull, application submission, and rate lock, and their impact on sales results.
• Ability to analyze lead sources from digital channels, branches, and Home Lending Advisor efforts to identify trends and performance patterns.
• Understanding of centralized call center and branch-based operational models and their effects on business processes and customer satisfaction.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging between $158,900 and $210,000, determined by experience, skills, and location. Eligible employees may receive discretionary incentive compensation recognizing individual contributions.
