Role Overview

Somtrade Limited, located at Mombasa Container Freight Station (CFS), is looking to recruit a detail-oriented Documentation Clerk. This role focuses on handling the management and organization of shipping and receiving paperwork, ensuring all documents meet accuracy standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Duties

• Oversee the collation and organization of shipping and receiving documentation.
• Ensure all paperwork fully complies with customs and regulatory policies.
• Coordinate with clients and relevant authorities through clear and effective communication.
• Utilize electronic documentation systems to maintain records and streamline processes.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a high school certificate, with further education in logistics or related disciplines considered a plus.
• Between two to three years of professional experience in documentation and customs clearance within logistics or freight forwarding, especially in a CFS setup.
• Competency with electronic documentation tools such as iCMS and KWATOS or their equivalents.
• Proficient usage of Microsoft Office suite for documentation-related tasks and communications.
• Strong familiarity with customs rules, import/export workflow, and mandatory documentation procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities to interact effectively with clients and regulatory bodies.
