Role Overview
AIR Sligo is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer to expand its engineering department, aiding in the creation and delivery of specialized automated machinery. This position focuses on designing sophisticated automation systems and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant, and effective project completion from concept to commissioning. The engineer will interpret client needs into superior electrical designs and provide support during build, testing, and commissioning phases.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for complex automation initiatives.
- Produce detailed electrical schematics to guide manufacturing processes.
- Source and procure electrical components necessary for design implementation.
- Generate test protocols and comprehensive documentation for electrical designs.
- Support electrical troubleshooting and debugging activities.
- Maintain communication with customers and suppliers throughout project lifecycle.
- Ensure all projects adhere to scheduled delivery timelines.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in electrical or electronic engineering with an emphasis on manufacturing is essential.
- At least three years’ experience in electrical design, industrial wiring, and troubleshooting of manufacturing machinery.
- Knowledge of electrical controls, including AC/DC motors, servo motors, inverters, panel equipment, drives, and pneumatics.
- Proficient with software such as Eplan, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Basic understanding of PLC programming and control systems methodologies.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of meeting deadlines efficiently.
- Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills.
- Holder of a valid driving license and willing to travel as necessary.
