Fabrication & Dispatch Coordinator

About the Role

SM Associates, operating in the steel fabrication and electrical distribution hardware sector, is seeking a diligent Fabrication & Dispatch Coordinator based in Howrah, West Bengal. This role demands proactive management and oversight of daily fabrication processes, coordination with external processing vendors, and ensuring readiness and dispatch of finished goods from the factory floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily fabrication activities ensuring alignment with production goals and shipping priorities.
• Maintain detailed records of work-in-progress, item-wise and quantity-wise.
• Coordinate essential fabrication tasks such as cutting, punching, drilling, welding, and assembly operations.
• Follow up with supervisors and workers to meet committed deadlines effectively.
• Identify potential delays and bottlenecks promptly, escalating them to higher management.
• Manage materials sent out for galvanizing or other external processing, ensuring timely completion and return.
• Verify quantity and condition of returned materials from outside processors.
• Organize counting, sorting, bundling, packing, and preparation of goods for dispatch.
• Ensure accurate loading of items and quantities with each dispatch operation.
• Collaborate with stores, production teams, transportation, and management to facilitate smooth dispatch workflows.
• Keep an up-to-date pending work tracker and provide daily reports summarizing completed tasks, outstanding work, causes of delays, and recommended next steps.

Candidate Requirements

• 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in fabrication, manufacturing, production coordination, dispatch, or factory operations.
• Preference for candidates experienced in steel fabrication, engineering goods production, or electrical hardware sectors.
• Strong skills in follow-up and coordination.
• Proficiency in maintaining basic records using Excel or Google Sheets.
• Comfortable utilizing WhatsApp for status updates, photographic evidence, and reporting.
• Willingness to be actively present on the factory floor and personally verify work progress.
• Ability to effectively liaise with workers, supervisors, stores personnel, transporters, and external vendors.

Compensation

The monthly salary ranges between ₹22,000 to ₹28,000, depending on the candidate's experience and capability.
