Financial Controller

About the Role

The Financial Controller role involves comprehensive oversight of all financial functions at the Port including budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, treasury operations, optimization of working capital, management of receivables, statutory compliance, audit coordination, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation, approval, and periodic evaluation of annual operating (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgets.
• Track and assess monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial results concerning revenue, costs, and profits; identify deviations and suggest corrective measures.
• Collaborate with business units to evaluate and endorse CAPEX projects through thorough financial analysis.
• Ensure timely and precise preparation of Management Information System (MIS) reports and organize review discussions with stakeholders.
• Supervise the preparation and validation of financial statements ensuring accuracy and regulatory adherence.
• Perform in-depth expense and receivables analysis to recommend strategies enhancing operational efficiency and cash flow.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and make decisions pertaining to short-term investments.
• Enforce compliance with internal audit recommendations to reinforce internal controls.
• Lead statutory audits to ensure timely completion and resolution of audit findings.
• Maintain compliance with statutory requirements like Service Tax, EPCG, and other regulatory obligations.
• Drive team performance through effective leadership, communication, and capacity-building initiatives.
• Remain informed on advancements and trends in finance and technology, integrating best practices within the finance function.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Finance and Accounts.
• Demonstrated expertise managing finance operations within large and complex organizations.
• Strong skills in preparing financial statements, finalizing balance sheets, and overseeing statutory audits.
• Proven experience managing audits, statutory compliance, and financial controls in a structured environment.
