Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead the finance department at our Ireland-based office. Reporting directly to the CFO, this hybrid position encompasses managing cash flow, ensuring financial compliance, fostering continuous improvement, and driving finance-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, preparing detailed monthly management accounts, statutory financial statements, and reports for the board.
• Collaborate with senior management on budgeting, forecasting, and pricing for commercial bids. Track KPIs and analyze project profitability to facilitate growth.
• Maintain adherence to Irish tax laws and Revenue standards, including processing PAYE and VAT returns. Coordinate the annual audit process and manage communications with external auditors.
• Manage cash flow forecasts, working capital, and treasury activities, while implementing strong internal financial controls and accounting policies.
• Lead and develop the finance team, advocating for technology adoption and system automation, including ERP implementations, to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Holder of a professional accounting certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA, with a solid foundation in technical accounting.
• Minimum of five years post-qualification experience in a comparable senior finance role, preferably in technology, IT, or engineering services sectors.
• Experience in an accounting firm will be considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen with the capability to convert complex financial information into actionable business strategies.
• High-level skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Sage Accounts software.
• In-depth knowledge of Irish tax legislation and regulatory requirements.
