Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at this innovative AI infrastructure company, you will bridge the gap between the product team and technical customers utilizing the platform. The company is crafting a runtime platform that supports secure cloud sandboxes, enabling AI agents to write and execute code safely and efficiently without affecting production environments. This platform serves a broad client base from emerging AI startups to leading global engineering organizations. This position is based in Singapore, suitable for candidates located or willing to relocate there.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison for enterprise customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
• Guide customers from initial onboarding through integration, adoption, and growth phases.
• Diagnose and reproduce issues involving APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and sandbox infrastructure.
• Create minimal reproduction scenarios to help engineering pinpoint root causes effectively.
• Assist in integrating the platform with CI/CD pipelines, AI-centric coding workflows, and autonomous agent systems.
• Address technical queries related to system performance, reliability, sandbox behavior, and platform features.
• Convert customer insights into actionable product and engineering feedback.
• Participate in technical discussions with prospective enterprise clients for scoping engagements.
• Identify recurring issues reported by customers and translate these into product improvements.
• Communicate effectively with developers, engineering leaders, and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Candidate Profile and Experience

• Minimum three years of experience in roles such as forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, field engineering, developer advocacy, or advanced technical support.
• Proficient programming skills to read, write, debug, and analyze code in customer environments.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, software development kits, and command-line interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of containerization, cloud infrastructure technologies such as Docker, sandboxing concepts, and compute environments.
• Excellent command of English for both written and oral communication.
• Ability to handle multiple customer engagements simultaneously while ensuring consistent follow-ups.
• Comfortable collaborating within a distributed, remote-first team setup.
• Genuine passion for AI coding tools, agentic workflows, and developer infrastructure trends.
• Good judgment to decide when to independently address issues versus involving engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with programming languages including Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Experience with Kubernetes or deployment in cloud-native environments.
• Background in developer relations, open source contributions, or creating technical documentation.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or experience troubleshooting database-related problems.
• Previous work experience within early-stage or scaling developer tools organizations.
• Understanding of logging, tracing, metrics, and observability tools and practices.
• Awareness of GDPR compliance and data residency concerns in enterprise software contexts.
