FP&A Analyst

Position Overview

Insomnia Cookies' Finance team plays a crucial role in guiding business decisions through insightful data analysis. We're seeking a collaborative, analytical FP&A Analyst who excels in a dynamic environment and enjoys transforming numerical data into practical insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning activities including annual budgeting, monthly forecasts, long-term planning, and occasional special projects.
• Develop financial models to assess investments, operational tactics, workforce strategies, pricing, bakery expansions, and other strategic ventures.
• Collaborate with business leaders to formulate assumptions, validate forecasts, and enhance predictive accuracy.
• Regularly track business metrics to proactively uncover financial risks and opportunities.
• Act as a reliable finance advisor to leaders across different departments, translating complex financial outcomes into clear business recommendations.
• Engage critically with data by questioning assumptions and promoting informed decision-making.
• Deliver analyses and proposals that are easily understood by both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Compile monthly reports, KPI dashboards, variance analysis, and executive-level presentations.
• Examine drivers such as sales, labor, food costs, operating expenses, and margins to detect trends and suggest improvements.
• Support materials preparation for executive meetings, board reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
• Enhance and maintain advanced Excel models essential for organizational use.
• Automate reporting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Refine financial reporting workflows, planning tools, and systems.
• Coordinate with Accounting to ensure financial data aligns accurately with forecasts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related fields.
• Over five years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, consulting, investment banking, or similar analytical roles.
• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and dedication to accuracy.
• Capability to explain financial concepts to non-finance audiences effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Oracle, Workday Adaptive, or comparable planning and reporting software.
