Role Overview

We are expanding and seeking dependable video editors to join our rotation. While strong editing skills are essential, what distinguishes our top editors is their ability to run the editing process smoothly and efficiently.

Position Details

• Fully remote position allowing work from anywhere.
• Contract-based, compensation is paid per video or project with rates agreed beforehand based on scope and length.
• Initially part-time with opportunity for increased workload as the company grows.
• Starts with a paid test edit using real footage.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit short-form social videos from raw footage and existing clips according to assigned briefs.
• Deliver videos in multiple orientations (9:16, 16:9, 1:1, 4:5) ensuring logos and supers remain visible through shot-by-shot reframing rather than simple cropping.
• Perform clean color grading by converting Log footage to standard color space and applying manual light corrections focused on maintaining natural looks aligned with briefs.
• Select music from copyright-free approved libraries and confirm choices with clients prior to finalizing where necessary.
• Manage work through Frame.io by version stacking, clear file naming, and ensuring client access without login requirements.
• Carefully manage revision rounds by implementing all requested changes, responding to feedback, and reviewing the full cut against the brief before submission.
• Conduct thorough self-quality control checking supers, fonts, runtime, aspect ratio, music, and adherence to brand guidelines before delivery.
• Log every delivered link in the project management system (Notion) to maintain a shared source of truth.
• Communicate realistic estimated times of arrival (ETAs) and proactively notify the team if deadlines might be jeopardized.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Established experience editing short-form or social videos, ideally in branded or commercial contexts.
• Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve or willingness to quickly transition to it, as collaboration is centralized using Resolve Cloud.
• Strong commitment to following briefs precisely, actively seeking clarification rather than guessing.
• Highly organized, dependable, and proactive with clear communication; requires minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail with a quality control mindset to ensure correctness of logos, supers, and full brief compliance.
• Consistent, reliable weekly availability paired with effective written communication skills.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience with motion graphics and on-screen text or animation.
• Background in creating content for beauty, fashion, or lifestyle sectors.
• Comfortable operating across multiple formats under fast turnaround schedules.
