Position Overview

The Freight Coordinator will manage the transportation logistics for materials moving between job sites, warehouses, and other designated locations. Key responsibilities include brokering third-party trucking services adhering to DOT and insurance protocols, overseeing fleet and driver maintenance, and handling claims. This role requires office presence and is not remote despite the company's general remote policy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the process of reviewing pricing and validating projected cost savings.
• Negotiate intricate contracts and freight rates.
• Collaborate across organizational levels to assess requirements for managed goods and services.
• Address inquiries and equipment-related issues with personnel.
• Monitor driver and personnel utilization for service coordination and scheduling.
• Plan, broker, and dispatch drivers according to operational needs.
• Create daily work and route schedules.
• Communicate essential load details, advances, maintenance plans, performance feedback, and safety protocols to drivers.
• Perform daily accounting of trucks and driver assignments.
• Ensure compliance with DOT by monitoring driver activities and logs.
• Maintain and present key performance indicators internally.
• Undertake other assigned duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics or transportation.
• Preferred Bachelor's degree (BA or BS).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as TMW and supply chain management platforms is advantageous.
• Experience managing profit and loss reports and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and sound decision-making skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication competencies.
• Willingness and ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as required.
• Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.
• Understanding of telematics systems and their application.

• Annual salary ranging from $50,000 to $58,000.
