About Lone Mountain Ranch
Situated in Big Sky, Montana, Lone Mountain Ranch is a historic guest ranch on 148 acres within the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. Established in 1915, it has evolved into a top guest ranch destination in the American West, combining genuine hospitality, rich heritage, refined luxury, and year-round outdoor adventures.

Role Overview
The Host serves a vital role in shaping the guest dining experience by warmly welcoming guests from their arrival. As the initial contact point within the restaurant, the Host ensures a warm, inviting, and efficient environment while supporting the smooth flow of dining service.
This position suits individuals who are personable, organized, and deeply motivated by hospitality. Hosts collaborate closely with servers, bartenders, kitchen personnel, and management to ensure guests feel genuinely welcomed in a polished, professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating and reservation management.
- Oversee waitlists, reservations, and table distribution during service times.
- Maintain effective communication with restaurant staff for seamless service delivery.
- Respond to guest inquiries regarding menus, dining options, and Ranch amenities.
- Provide support with table setups, water service, and general dining room maintenance as needed.
- Keep the host stand and waiting areas organized, tidy, and inviting.
- Assist with take-out orders and attend to special guest requests attentively.
- Support bartenders, servers, or other restaurant team members when required.
- Promote a positive, team-centric, and hospitality-minded atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in customer service, restaurant, or hospitality roles is preferred.
- Exhibit a friendly, professional, and refined demeanor with strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong organization and multitasking skills in fast-paced settings.
- Comfortable engaging professionally and confidently with both guests and team members.
- Ability to stay composed, adaptable, and solutions-focused during busy service periods.
- Familiarity with reservation and POS systems and basic computer literacy is advantageous.
- Collaborative attitude with readiness to assist overall restaurant operations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Capable of standing for prolonged periods and performing light physical tasks related to restaurant support.
- Genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
