Job Overview
This role as an Intermediate Business Analyst for Payments Operations, based in Toronto, Ontario, offers a hybrid working arrangement requiring onsite presence 2 days per week (Mondays and Tuesdays). The contract spans 12 months with working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours weekly. Compensation ranges between C$45.00 and C$50.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and refine automated payment operation workflows, including reconciliation and exception handling.
- Identify and champion the removal of manual processes via AI-centric automation, low-code/no-code tools, and scripting technologies.
- Collaborate with testing teams to design and sustain automated testing protocols, including system integration, user acceptance, and regression testing.
- Support and troubleshoot payment reconciliations across diverse payment methods such as real-time payments, wires, ACH/EFT, and card transactions.
- Analyze transaction data for trend identification, control improvement, and operational risk mitigation through advanced analytics and AI technologies.
- Engage cross-departmentally to translate operational requirements into scalable automation and reconciliation solutions, effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Qualifications and Skills
- 3 to 7 years' experience in payments, banking operations, reconciliation, automation, or operational transformation roles.
- Expertise in process automation utilizing tools like Python, SQL, Power Automate, Alteryx, and UiPath.
- Proficient in test automation and quality engineering methodologies.
- Strong analytical capabilities paired with experience in data visualization and reporting development.
- Familiarity with payment ecosystems including EFT/ACH, wire transfers, card payments, real-time payments, and ISO 20022 messaging.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and documentation.
- Preferred but not required: experience in large transformation programs and working with major banking institutions.
