Overview
Beyond New Horizons, LLC presents an opportunity for a Material Controller position supporting Test Operations and Sustainment (TOS II) at Arnold Air Force Base, Tullahoma, Tennessee. This role involves close collaboration within an integrated team to support United States Air Force operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage material planning and coordination efforts to fulfill project needs.
- Act as the primary expert and contact for acquisition of all materials and external services necessary for assigned projects.
- Track and expedite material status both internally and externally to ensure availability, providing regular updates to management.
- Process company credit card purchases following established procedures.
- Collaborate with project teams to plan, select, and expedite material procurement, ensuring teams stay informed about procurement progress.
- Strategize procurement schedules to align with project timelines and cost-effectiveness.
- Incorporate material requirements early in work planning, identifying readily available inventory and researching sources for special items.
- Provide accurate lead time estimates for procurement and coordinate with Acquisitions for timely delivery supporting scheduled activities.
- Maintain and update material management data in relevant databases, assessing and correcting entries as required.
- Prioritize allocations consistently to ensure material availability prior to installation deadlines.
- Participate in inventory activities, including identification and proper disposition of materials and property in assigned zones.
- Ensure appropriate handling of excess or unused items at task completion.
- Maintain effective communication with Procurement, Project Controls, and other departments to secure necessary materials for ongoing tasks.
- Comply with company policies requiring personal protective equipment (PPE) during work.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in business management or a related field with a minimum of four years in relevant roles such as material management, purchasing, inventory control, or office administration.
- Must be a current U.S. citizen.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related discipline preferred.
- Experience managing materials within a government environment is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, including freight handling and equipment, along with inventory management expertise.
- Familiarity with procurement processes for materials, services, and equipment, specifically within construction disciplines and deliverables.
- Proficiency in using standard database systems.

Additional Information
Beyond New Horizons is a joint venture offering unparalleled test and sustainment services for Arnold Engineering Development Complex. This role requires compliance with company PPE policies and readiness for potential extended working hours. The position is full-time by default, but salaries for part-time work will be prorated based on agreed hours. Candidates must be U.S. citizens; no immigration sponsorship is available.
The annual salary range for this position at Arnold AFB, TN is $56,000 to $75,000, adjusted for part-time engagement.
