Opportunity Overview

Join the team at Pilgrim's Europe located at the Bromborough site as an Optimizer. This role involves managing slicing and crust freezer equipment to enhance performance, improve throughput and product output, while preserving product quality.

Schedule and Work Pattern

• Work five days out of six between Monday and Saturday with flexible scheduling.
• Shift timing: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Role Responsibilities

• Properly set up slicer/freezer machinery to achieve desired quality, efficiency, and performance levels.
• Train and upskill new and existing slicer/freezer operators to improve operation skills and understanding of yield and giveaway optimization.
• Proactively support line operators to enhance efficiency on the production line.
• Identify and address quality issues with raw materials, assisting Line Leaders in quality management.
• Monitor slicing data to determine necessary adjustments and implement these changes collaboratively with Line Leaders.
• Participate in meetings and coordinate with senior managers and other departments.
• Take responsibility for managing and reducing factory giveaway through effective implementation.
• Understand and work towards key performance indicators (KPIs), motivating team members alongside Line Leaders to achieve targets.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of machinery and workspaces.
• Adhere strictly to Food Safety, HACCP, Quality Assurance, and Hygiene Standards, including performing safety checks and risk assessments when necessary.
• Communicate changes effectively to team members as needed.
• Assist other departments to foster a collaborative 'One Team' culture based on company leadership principles.
• Be a visible promoter of the Quality and Food Safety culture on site and participate actively in audits and customer visits, leading in their area of responsibility.

Candidate Profile

• Proactive individual with excellent communication, prioritization, and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience or knowledge related to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices.
• Strong team player with good mechanical aptitude.
• Positive attitude, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
