About the Role and Company
Join a leading global infrastructure consulting firm dedicated to building better communities worldwide. This role is based in Dublin and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex rail infrastructure projects. You'll be part of a dynamic team delivering impactful projects that transform urban environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed project schedules and Gantt charts using Primavera P6, aligned with standard Work Breakdown Structures.
- Define all project activities, milestones, tasks, and deliverables throughout the entire project lifecycle, including feasibility, design, planning, procurement, construction, and operational readiness phases.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and stakeholders to determine realistic durations, sequences, and required resources for activities.
- Manage schedule dependencies, logic ties, float, leads and lags to accurately identify the critical path.
- Integrate individual project schedules into a master programme schedule to oversee the Capital Investment Programme portfolio.
- Update and maintain project schedules on a monthly basis, ensuring timely consolidation for enterprise-wide reporting.
- Review contractor programmes, conduct schedule risk assessments and evaluate critical paths during tendering and delivery stages.
- Assess changes and variations within projects for impacts on schedule, budget, and risk profiles.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Earned Value Management techniques across projects.
- Prepare programme and project performance reports for senior management and project teams.
- Develop cost-loaded schedules to assist cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
- Provide support for data analysis, validation, and summary documentation within the Project Controls function.
- Lead cross-project scheduling sessions with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to harmonise approaches and assumptions.
- Interface with pre-construction, design, construction, and capacity planning teams to support project initiation and timeline development.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to evaluate impacts of design and material changes on scheduling.
- Work jointly with Cost & Risk Management to ensure accurate spend forecasts and risk mitigation plans.
- Produce analysis and summary reports to assist decision-making by the Programme Controls Manager.
- Promote a positive, collaborative culture within the scheduling team, encouraging best practices and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong, proactive relationships with stakeholders within programme controls and the wider project delivery environment.
- Respond promptly and clearly to scheduling queries to support effective programme delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience integrating multiple scheduling inputs into consolidated master schedules and producing accurate status reports.
- Expertise in creating critical path schedules from fundamentals, including leading workshops and engaging project teams to establish robust logic.
- Strong skills in defining and managing progress measurement and reporting with contractors and partners.
- Extensive background working on large-scale capital programmes with significant pre-construction planning and delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects.
