Position Overview and Duties
- Develop and oversee man-hour allocation, scheduling, and workforce planning, ensuring alignment with project needs and guidance from the Discipline Manager.
- Arrange coverage plans to accommodate team members’ vacations and unexpected absences.
- Ensure adherence among team members to recognized engineering standards, relevant regulations, and client specifications.
- Promote the standardization of equipment specifications, design drawings, and documentation templates.
- Contribute expertise related to technical knowledge, legal mandates, and customer requirements when applicable.
- Engage in strategy formulation and execution planning for projects.
- Maintain comprehensive awareness of project and discipline scopes, costs, and timelines, ensuring team performance meets expectations while coordinating with other disciplines for project success.
- Support management of changes and project progress, collaborating with Project Management to address staffing, scope adjustments, and other factors impacting project delivery and profitability.
- Lead regular Instrumentation & Control progress meetings, review reports, and validate checks.
- Initiate, supervise, and manage engineering assignments to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Coordinate and direct workloads for Instrumentation & Control engineers and designers, adhering to project schedules.
- Analyze multiple data sources to prepare engineering studies, calculations, and recommend actionable solutions.
- Offer recommendations and conduct thorough review of documentation prior to client submission.
- Diagnose technical challenges, consider alternatives with pros and cons, and formalize recommendations via official project documents.
- Define discipline deliverables, monitor their progress, and control adherence to schedules.
- Review final documentation ensuring completeness and facilitate client approvals.
- Take part in bid clarifications, vendor information evaluations, certification processes, and interdisciplinary reviews.
- Ensure compliance with organizational Quality Assurance policies, collaborating with project managers to adhere to the Worley Project Management Process (WPMP) and EMS requirements.
- Monitor and ensure closure of identified project risks and opportunities.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures, promoting health, safety, and environmental awareness.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Significant recent experience in offshore upstream Oil & Gas projects.
- Proven background in engineering design phases including Feasibility, Concept, FEED, and EPC.
- At least the last 3 to 5 years engaged in offshore project work.
- Expertise in functional safety and control systems.
- Familiarity with DCS, SIL 3 Fire & Gas, ESD, PA/GA systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Mandatory accreditation from Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME); candidates without this must agree to obtain it during probation.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or progress towards it is advantageous.
