Role overview

This position is based in Kumasi, Ghana, within the Operations function. The Procurement Supervisor will help strengthen sourcing operations, improve supplier relationships, and support efficient procurement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Create and roll out procurement strategies that improve supplier partnerships and make the supply chain more efficient.
• Source, evaluate, and bring new suppliers into the network to broaden the supply base and encourage healthy competition and new ideas.
• Discuss commercial terms with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, suitable quality, and dependable delivery timelines.
• Manage the procurement workflow from requisition intake through purchase order release while staying aligned with internal policies and procedures.
• Track supplier performance and lead actions to improve capability, responsiveness, and service quality.
• Keep price records, product details, and supplier catalogs up to date to support purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate follow-ups on pending orders to speed up deliveries and close out open items.
• Apply inventory controls that keep stock at efficient levels, reduce shortages, and maintain cost discipline.
• Act as a link between internal teams and suppliers to resolve procurement issues and questions.
• Maintain the required documentation and process controls to support auditability and quality management systems.
• Prepare and review performance metrics to assess supplier effectiveness and drive ongoing improvement.

Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, or a closely related discipline. A professional certification in procurement or supply chain is considered a strong advantage. Candidates should understand procurement principles, supplier management, contract handling, and inventory control. Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, are required, and prior exposure to ERP tools such as SAP is expected.
