Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the produce department in a clean, organized, and well-zoned state to ensure constant readiness for customers.
• Regularly rotate stock and dispose of expired products to guarantee freshness and uphold quality standards.
• Ensure all produce items are priced and labeled accurately according to established procedures, including managing ordering, clearance, markdowns, and signage.
• Adhere strictly to food safety protocols and cold chain requirements, performing temperature checks and proper food handling in compliance with sell-by and expiration dates.
• Stock and downstock items as needed, apply product protection, and arrange modular displays to keep the department thoroughly stocked.
• Follow all health and safety policies to sustain a safe, clean work environment.
• Be flexible and willing to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, accommodating business needs.

Challenges

• Manage workload efficiently during overnight shifts, maintaining energy and focus to complete large volumes of restocking and recovery accurately and timely.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive duties like stocking and zoning with meticulous attention to detail and consistency.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.45.
