Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Product Designer with a passion for craftsmanship and system thinking to develop and maintain our design systems — including components, tokens, and patterns foundational to all our products. This role demands exceptional visual design expertise, a keen eye for typography, color, spacing, and motion, as well as strong product design judgment to apply the system effectively across diverse product challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale: Develop the architecture for tokens, components, and theming (including light and dark modes) that adapts consistently across multiple products without fragmentation.
• Governance and standards: Create and manage the documentation, contribution frameworks, and standards to maintain coherence as the design system evolves and new contributors engage.
• Collaborate closely with engineering: Ensure the design system is implemented accurately and efficiently in partnership with front-end engineers.
• Refine visual and interaction details: Infuse the system with meticulous attention to motion and micro-interactions to create a distinctive and intentional user experience beyond mere functionality.
• Promote adoption: Build resources and foster relationships across design, engineering, and marketing teams to encourage consistent use of the system.

Candidate Profile

• Exceptional visual designer with a strong, trained eye for typography, color theory, layout, and fine details, including animation skills.
• Experienced product designer with over 6 years of practice and robust UX judgment, capable of designing systems that remain elegant under complex product demands.
• Proven expertise in building and managing design systems at scale, ideally both developing new frameworks and evolving existing ones.
• Innovative creator with original design sensibilities that stand apart from generic SaaS templates, capable of articulating design rationale comprehensively.
• Principled decision-maker who can convincingly justify design choices and thoughtfully challenge assumptions, including their own.
• Comfortable making definitive decisions in ambiguous environments by weighing trade-offs and maintaining precision in execution.
• Technically knowledgeable, able to interact closely with development teams to ensure integrity between design and implementation.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced startup culture where priorities shift quickly without compromising quality.
