Quality Control Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Quality Control Engineer to join our contracting and construction company in Riyadh. The role requires overseeing the implementation and continuous maintenance of the project Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring all site works meet the approved drawings, technical standards, and relevant codes. This position demands proactive quality assurance and control to uphold high standards and improve processes on site.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience specifically in quality control or assurance within construction or contracting sectors.
• In-depth understanding of quality management systems and ISO 9001 standards.
• Strong familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and international codes including ACI, ASTM, BS, and SBC.
• Experience in preparing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality checklists.
• Knowledge of material testing procedures and review of laboratory reports for concrete, soil, and finishing works.
• Competent in AutoCAD, MS Office, and quality management/reporting tools.
• Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and ability to perform under deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the project Quality Management System on site ensuring adherence to project standards.
• Prepare and evaluate Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality checklists, and method statements to aid quality assurance activities.
• Conduct inspections of works and materials verifying compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) by raising, tracking, and ensuring corrective/preventive measures are effective.
• Review and approve material submissions and coordinate material inspections in conjunction with consultants.
• Coordinate and supervise site and third-party laboratory testing, validating results and issued reports.
• Maintain comprehensive quality records, inspection requests, and documentation for project handover.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and various engineering teams to address quality issues efficiently.
• Conduct internal audits and support addressing snag lists to ensure quality standards are met before handover.
• Promote quality awareness among project teams and subcontractors ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements.
