Role Overview

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Cork office to support cost management services across diverse projects. This role entails assisting in delivering cost estimates, planning, tender documentation, and managing project finances from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality, timely outcomes and excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the successful execution of Cost Management assignments, ensuring projects meet deadlines, scope, and quality standards.
  • Support senior staff by preparing cost estimates, cost plans, tender documents, and financial reports.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • Assist in managing project costs effectively throughout all stages.
  • Collaborate closely with senior surveyors and project members to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Help prepare and review valuations, contract variations, and final accounts.
  • Participate in business development efforts, including bid preparation and client engagement.
  • Stay current with industry practices, cost management standards, and professional development.
  • Ensure all deliverables align with agreed timelines, quality requirements, and client expectations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc or MSc degree in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management.
  • Professional qualification or actively working toward Chartered Status with SCSI or RICS.
  • Between 3 and 5 years consultancy experience providing a range of cost management services including pre-contract estimating, procurement, cost reporting, and final accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, procurement procedures, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with Public Works Contracts and RIAI standard contract forms.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality consultancy and positive client outcomes.
  • Capability to advise clients and design teams on cost planning, value management, and project risk.
  • Proficient IT user with experience in digital measurement, cost planning, and tender documentation tools.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
