About the Role
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor with specialized experience in Data Centre or Mission Critical environments such as Hospitals, Schools, and Airports. Based in Frankfurt, Germany, this full-time onsite position involves overseeing commercial management aspects of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) construction projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate procurement strategies for specialist M&E subcontract packages.
- Conduct monthly cost value reconciliations to assess actual versus forecast expenditures.
- Handle procurement and appointment of specialist subcontractors across BMS, Fire Protection, HVAC, Electrical, Thermal Insulation, and other M&E fields.
- Manage subcontract agreements ensuring sound commercial and contractual compliance.
- Lead variation management, compensation event handling, and change control throughout project stages.
- Prepare and submit payment applications, including evaluations of materials on site where relevant.
- Review payment certificates, pay less notices, and supporting contract documents.
- Oversee project cash flow, track commercial risks, and maintain a risk and opportunity register.
- Compile commercial reports, financial forecasts, and final accounts documentation.
- Participate in commercial meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Assist project close-out processes and conduct lessons learned assessments.
Experience and Qualifications
- Between 3 and 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in M&E building services or related construction sectors.
- Proven track record handling projects from pre-contract stages through to final account completion.
- Degree or Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar fields.
- Membership in professional bodies such as RICS or ICES is preferred.
- Possession of CSCS card or an equivalent site certification is advantageous.
Technical Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical building services.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and documentation effectively.
- Familiarity with NEC and JCT contract forms.
- Experience in subcontract procurement, contract valuations, cost control, and commercial management processes.
Software Proficiency
- Competency with commercial software such as Bluebeam Revu.
- Experience using Construction ERP platforms like COINS, Sage, RedSky, or equivalents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
