Safety Advisor

About the Role

Design Build Search is offering a Safety Advisor position based in Wexford County, focusing on electrical installation and maintenance projects. The company is recognized for having strong safety management systems, and this role supports all safety-related activities across various projects. You will collaborate closely with Site and Project Managers along with other project staff. The ideal candidate is passionate about safety, skilled at fostering professional and trusted relationships, and advocates a team-oriented approach. The role emphasizes projects in Wexford County, working with a leading contractor on landmark Irish projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace audits and risk assessments in line with current safety legislation and guidelines.
• Perform weekly site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance.
• Maintain and compile records and reports via the online Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) system.
• Monitor Health and Safety performance across the Business Unit and prepare relevant reports.
• Provide Health and Safety advice during tender and prequalification processes and suggest practical solutions.
• Identify training and development needs for yourself and subordinate staff, mentoring employees at all levels regarding Health and Safety standards.
• Apply working knowledge of ISO and HSQE regulations and construction sector legislation.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in health and safety roles within principal contractor civil and utility construction environments.
• Possession of a third-level qualification in Health and Safety or Occupational Health and Safety.
• Strong written and verbal communication, excellent time management, and organizational capabilities.
• Full driving license with the ability to operate a vehicle as required for the position.
