Role Overview

This position is for a Scrum Master supporting a Haystack partner in Washington, DC. The role centers on guiding an engineering team through Agile delivery, improving team practices, and helping keep work aligned with sprint objectives.

What You’ll Do

• Coach the development team on Agile methods and keep sprint goals in focus so delivery stays on track.
• Use Scrum practices to address everyday blockers and drive steady, sustainable process improvements.
• Run Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Draft clear user stories, break down related tasks, and define acceptance criteria.
• Work with the project team to review workflows and improve business processes.
• Maintain the product backlog while supporting quality assurance and requirements validation.

What You’ll Need

• At least 2 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master on an engineering team.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, including configuring and coordinating Jira boards across multiple teams.
• Background in client delivery work and direct interaction with senior client stakeholders.
• Ability to explain core Agile concepts to technical teams in a practical way.
• An active Secret security clearance.
• A bachelor’s degree.
