Site Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and critically evaluate electrical layouts specifically for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems including both rooftop and ground-mounted installations.
• Prepare and validate Single Line Diagrams (SLD), appropriate cable sizing, earthing arrangements, and protection schemes to ensure system safety and efficiency.
• Oversee the installation processes, perform testing, and manage the commissioning phases of solar PV plants to guarantee operational readiness.
• Collaborate closely with civil, mechanical, and procurement departments to synchronize project efforts and timelines.
• Adhere to all relevant standards such as IEC and IEEE, conform to local electrical codes, and enforce safety regulations throughout project execution.
• Conduct thorough site inspections regularly and swiftly address any electrical problems encountered during construction or installation.
• Provide assistance in grid synchronization activities, configure inverters properly, and conduct performance testing to optimize output.
• Review vendor drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and other technical documentation to ensure compliance and feasibility.
• Support operation and maintenance planning, including troubleshooting to enhance system reliability and performance post-installation.
• Compile comprehensive technical reports and create as-built documentation reflecting the final system configuration.

Required Technical Skills

• Proficient with solar PV design software such as PVsyst and AutoCAD to facilitate detailed design and simulation tasks.
• Capable of performing key electrical calculations including load flow analysis, cable sizing, and fault level assessments.
• Familiarity with grid interconnection standards to ensure seamless integration of solar systems with electrical grids.
• Competent in using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for documentation and presentation duties.
