Role Overview

The Site In-Charge will hold comprehensive responsibility for managing and executing sizable infrastructure and civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, timelines, budgets, and safety standards. Acting as the focal point for site operations, this role demands proactive coordination with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full project execution aligned with approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, and agreed schedules.
• Develop and oversee execution plans, regularly reviewing progress to identify and mitigate risks and ensure milestone achievements.
• Optimize allocation and use of labor, machinery, and materials to maintain uninterrupted site operations.
• Supervise and direct Engineers, Supervisors, QA/QC personnel, Surveyors, Stores, Safety teams, Billing staff, and subcontractors to foster efficient teamwork.
• Conduct frequent review meetings, monitor site productivity, and maintain smooth interdepartmental coordination.
• Mentor and build a high-performing site team through ongoing development and guidance.
• Function as the primary liaison for clients, consultants, and headquarters regarding project progress, approvals, and issue resolution.
• Control commercial aspects including cost monitoring, resource utilization, verifying subcontractor invoices, and supporting billing activities to ensure project profitability.
• Plan material requirements proactively, coordinating with Procurement and Stores to guarantee timely availability and perform diligent material reconciliation and inventory management.
• Oversee equipment utilization, fuel consumption, and enforce measures to minimize wastage.
• Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, driving a strong culture of quality and safety through inspections and corrective actions.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and submit timely progress reports, billing updates, cost analyses, material reconciliation records, equipment utilization data, and management information systems reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• B.E. or B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering; MBA or M.Tech qualifications are advantageous.
• Minimum 12 years of total experience with at least 5 years managing projects independently.
• Excellent leadership and project management capabilities with deep knowledge in civil construction methods, project planning, BOQ, billing, and contract administration.
• Proficient in cost control, material and quality management, safety oversight, and client relationship management.
• Technical proficiency in ERP systems, MS Project or Primavera, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to infrastructure projects such as airports, runways, highways, railways, industrial plants, buildings, bridges, or government EPC contracts.
• History of leading large project sites and managing diverse, multidisciplinary teams autonomously.
• Background with established Infrastructure/EPC firms is highly regarded.
