About the Role

The NARMCO Group, a leader in the automotive metal stamping and assembly sector, is seeking skilled Toolmakers to join our expanding professional team in Windsor, Ontario. This role focuses on creating and maintaining sophisticated metal stamping dies, including progressive and tandem dies designed for deep draw, aluminum, ultra-high strength steel (UHSS), and other complex stamping applications in automotive manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Interpret a variety of technical documents including die designs, CAD models, and sketches to guide die production for metal stamping purposes.
  • Examine and confirm the type, grade, and dimensions of materials to ensure they meet the engineering requirements for each workpiece.
  • Align die components and assemblies to precise specifications by following engineering diagrams to achieve required clearances and fit.
  • Diagnose, address, and resolve any functional or quality issues in dies, making necessary adjustments and modifications until the dies satisfy final quality checks.

Candidate Profile & Experience

  • Current Tool & Die Maker (Red Seal) certification, or an equivalent combination of relevant technical education and substantial experience.
  • At least 3–5 years of practical experience building new tooling within a tool & die setting, ideally for high-volume automotive applications.
  • Proven background in producing progressive, transfer, and robotic transfer dies specifically for metal stamping in the automotive sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sheet metal forming, metal stampability, and die design within automotive manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting and quality assurance for stamping dies.

Compensation

  • The hourly wage ranges from $25.00 to $33.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
