Role overview
ACC New Zealand is seeking a Workforce Modeller to strengthen workforce planning and day-to-day operational decision-making. In this position, you will build, refine, and maintain sophisticated models that help ensure the organisation has the right people, with the right capacity, at the right time to support customer demand and strategic priorities.
This is a permanent, full-time role. While the position is based in Auckland, there is flexibility to work from Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin.
What you will do
- Create accurate models, forecasts, prototypes, and analytical outputs that support sound business decisions.
- Work with large and complex datasets by extracting, shaping, and analysing data through tools such as Python, SQL, SAS, or R.
- Write clear documentation for modelling approaches so methods remain transparent and repeatable.
- Advise stakeholders on how changes to operations or processes could influence workforce capacity and performance.
- Turn analytical findings into summaries, charts, and presentations that are easy for a range of audiences to understand.
- Spot opportunities to improve existing models, reporting workflows, and analytical tools so they become more accurate and efficient.
- Support validation, testing, peer review, and ongoing development of modelling capability within the team.
What you will bring
You are an experienced Workforce Modeller with a strong analytical foundation and a practical, delivery-oriented approach. You are comfortable translating complex information into useful workforce planning solutions and have experience using proven modelling methods to support both operational and strategic decisions.
- Proven experience building and improving workforce planning models.
- Strong use of modelling best practices and robust forecasting techniques.
- Experience creating supply and demand, capacity, and multivariate models.
- Ability to convert analysis into practical recommendations for decision-makers.
- Confidence in solving complex problems and delivering outcomes in a changing environment.

Pay and benefits
The salary range for this role is $101,287 to $131,077, plus an additional 9% superannuation contribution. ACC also provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes a favourable superannuation arrangement with 0% contribution required from you, optional life and income protection insurance, and the ability to move to a locked plan at any time for added financial security now and in retirement.
