Internship Overview
This opportunity offers a remote internship for civil engineering students interested in contributing to NGO infrastructure development while working from home. Participants will engage in digital architectural drafting, detailed materials estimation, cost budgeting, and compliance verification relevant to the construction sector within Telangana.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop architectural layout plans digitally, integrating both residential areas and NGO workspace functions such as meeting rooms and separate entrances.
- Precisely calculate raw material requirements—concrete, steel, bricks—using civil engineering calculations derived from drawings.
- Create a comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQ) spreadsheet covering all expense categories including excavation, foundation works, plumbing, electrical, and finishing.
- Conduct market research to source and gather current construction material rates from Hyderabad suppliers through phone and online channels, updating budget spreadsheets accordingly.
- Verify adherence to local building regulations, including gram panchayat and town planning rules along with Floor Space Index (FSI) restrictions.
Candidate Requirements and Preferences
- Currently enrolled civil engineering students with relevant interest and skills.
- Availability to start between July 12 and August 16, 2026 and commit to a 3-month duration remotely.
- Desire to initiate or contribute to startup ventures or independent consultancies in the future is favored.
- Strong understanding of NGOs, especially Section 8 companies, with dedication to social impact causes.
- Passion for supporting India's infrastructure development and local community progress.
- Willingness and interest to transition into hands-on site work in Hyderabad upon commencement of physical construction phases.
- Familiarity with Telangana’s building approval processes, including knowledge of relevant bylaws and online platforms like BuildNow Telangana or TG-bPASS.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and independent worker capable of operating with minimal supervision in a computer-based role.

- Work arrangement: Fully remote with flexible scheduling over five working days a week.
- Stipend provided ranges from INR 26,000 to INR 27,500 per month.
