AI/ML Engineer

Role Overview

The AI/ML Engineer position is based in Austin, TX, offering a hybrid work environment. This long-term contract role aims to augment the existing team by providing specialized skills to meet fast-paced project deadlines across multiple large-scale enterprise initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement an enterprise-wide search solution to enhance data retrieval across DPS systems.
• Deploy and manage the AI inventory and monitoring platform known as Darwin.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain a variety of AI agents intended to optimize internal operations and citizen-facing services.
• Create and enforce AI governance frameworks to comply with cybersecurity standards, privacy mandates, and statewide technology policies.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in developing and deploying enterprise search solution components.
• Minimum one year working knowledge in setting up, launching, and documenting the Darwin AI inventory system.
• One year of hands-on experience with AI agent implementation and testing aligned to specific business needs.
• Proven ability in formulating AI governance including technical documentation, policy creation, and operational guidelines.
