Position Overview
We are looking for a strategic and seasoned Commercial leader to take charge of our commercial activities at a senior leadership level. The position involves overseeing regulatory interactions, ensuring statutory compliance, managing export-import incentives, and coordinating logistics across the pharmaceutical manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all compliance and liaison efforts with regulatory bodies such as DGFT, Drug Department, Prohibition & Excise, and Narcotics authorities.
- Manage all licensing activities including application, renewal, and compliance for test licenses, drug licenses, and advance licenses.
- Monitor and apply for government incentives while engaging with industry bodies like Pharmexcil and BDMA through strategic representation.
- Coordinate and successfully conclude audits conducted by Drug Department and DGFT.
- Track export obligations linked to government benefits, ensuring targets for exports or sales under advance licenses are achieved, and promptly address any discrepancies or risks.
- Facilitate smooth dispatch operations by collaborating with manufacturing plants and customers to ensure timely and compliant delivery.
- Partner with SCM and PPIC teams to manage import clearances, bonding procedures, and customs bonding especially when warehouse space is limited.
- Negotiate freight contracts with shipping agents to reduce logistics costs effectively.
- Manage the process of export rejects, ensuring their safe return and clearance under bond.
- Supervise vendor assessments, price negotiations, and contract management to maintain a dependable supplier network.
- Serve as a key coordinator among finance, plant operations, supply chain management, and executive leaders to enhance commercial operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Educational Qualification: Postgraduate degree or MBA specializing in Operations, Supply Chain, or Materials Management.
- Experience: At least 15 years in commercial operations, export-import compliance, and statutory liaisoning, preferably within API, bulk drugs, or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries.
- Essential Skills: Profound knowledge of DGFT and licensing regulations, customs bonding expertise, strong governmental liaison abilities, proficiency in SAP/ERP systems, complemented by excellent analytical and negotiation capabilities.
