Position Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a vital role in supporting the entire store operations to ensure customers receive an excellent shopping experience. Acting as the second-in-command to the Store Manager, this role requires managing daily operations efficiently, leading staff, meeting sales objectives, and upholding superior customer service standards.
Primary Duties
- Maintain a customer-first approach consistently throughout the store.
- Set and exemplify high standards of customer service.
- Proactively pursue opportunities to meet or surpass sales goals.
- Communicate sales KPIs and targets clearly to all team members.
- Ensure promotional activities related to stock are implemented appropriately.
- Deploy sales strategies effectively to boost store revenue.
Store Administration
- Conduct regular audits of store administration tasks and address issues promptly.
- Adapt and implement new administration procedures positively and efficiently within the store.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager in setting and accomplishing sales targets.
- Track sales metrics and analyze key performance indicators.
- Optimize inventory control and merchandising for maximum product availability.
- Perform timely stock checks and ensure replenishment to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Maintain store layout and presentation that align with brand guidelines.
Store Presentation and Team Oversight
- Manage optimal stock packaging and inventory levels to maximize sales potential.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising through team coordination.
- Inform staff promptly of changes in stock or store layout.
- Enforce adherence to all retail standards among team members.
- Supervise back store operations and merchandise replenishment.
Staff Management and Development
- Oversee staff schedules including work hours, vacations, and days off.
- Address employee grievances, provide feedback, and offer counseling when necessary.
- Promote staff involvement in setting store goals and developing action plans.
- Ensure staff maintain professional company image and comply with dress code policies.
- Manage staff leave records diligently.
Security Compliance
- Enforce all security protocols across the store premises.
- Maintain heightened awareness regarding stock and cash security among staff.

- Implement corrective measures and progressive discipline when warranted.
- Exemplify reliability, dependability, and punctuality consistently.
- Preserve strict confidentiality for all employee-related information.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess over three years of progressively responsible experience in customer-focused roles coupled with strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities. Demonstrated success in boosting customer engagement and surpassing sales KPI targets is essential. A bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
