Position Overview
John Hardy is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence & Analytics Manager to support both Wholesale and eCommerce divisions through insightful data analysis and strategic guidance. This pivotal role serves as a conduit between business units and the Data & Technology department, transforming complex datasets into strategic recommendations that enhance performance, highlight growth prospects, mitigate risks, and aid long-term planning. The successful candidate will also collaborate extensively with third-party analytics providers to manage and refine eCommerce forecasting models.
Core Responsibilities
- Evaluate performance metrics across Wholesale and eCommerce channels to uncover expansion opportunities and potential threats.
- Provide actionable intelligence to inform strategies in merchandising, marketing spend, inventory management, and customer acquisition.
- Lead regular business reviews emphasizing performance trends, key drivers, and proposed courses of action.
- Conduct specialized analyses to assist senior leadership in decision-making and strategic endeavors.
- Collaborate with business units to define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish success measurement frameworks.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports that offer insight into business health.
- Ensure stakeholders receive timely and precise data, facilitating self-service reporting tools when appropriate.
- Optimize reporting processes for enhanced efficiency, consistency, and user-friendliness.
- Liaise with Data & Technology teams to refine data requirements, upgrade data architecture, and guarantee data is structured for effective analysis.
- Prioritize data enhancements and advocate for improvements in data governance, quality, and accessibility.
- Convert business inquiries into technical specifications and participate in developing analytical datasets and reporting tools.
- Lead the eCommerce forecasting effort, managing relationships with external analytics partners and ensuring forecast accuracy, alignment with market conditions, and continuous model improvements.
- Provide forecast-driven insights for inventory planning, revenue projections, and strategic guidance.
- Work cross-functionally across Wholesale, eCommerce, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance, Operations, and Technology to align on business objectives and performance indicators.
- Communicate findings and strategic recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
- Promote a culture centered around data-driven decision-making throughout the company.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, data analytics, information systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum five years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, strategy, consulting, or similar analytical roles.
- Proficiency in SQL with experience managing extensive datasets.
- Capability to translate business challenges into analytical solutions and practical recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence across organizational levels.
- Experience overseeing external vendors or partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within luxury, retail, fashion, consumer goods, or eCommerce sectors.
- Knowledge of forecasting techniques and predictive analytics.
- Familiarity with data warehouses and cloud-based data platforms.
- Understanding of eCommerce KPIs, customer analytics, digital marketing effectiveness, and wholesale operating models.
