Job Overview

As a key contributor, you'll embody Farm Boy’s fresh, inviting shopping atmosphere by delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring seamless checkout processes. Your contributions will include efficiently scanning items, bagging, payment handling, and supporting store operations to maintain a memorable shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, confident, and engaging customer support consistent with Farm Boy’s dedication to quality.
• Greet customers, assist with purchases accurately, and handle transactions adhering to service standards.
• Share product knowledge and assist customers with any related inquiries.
• Use product codes effectively to ensure swift checkouts.
• Manage cash and tender transactions responsibly including balancing tills.
• Answer and direct incoming calls as part of store support.
• Handle alcohol sales safely where applicable, requiring Smart Serve certification or readiness to obtain it.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas, including retrieving carts from parking areas.
• Comply fully with corporate policies focusing on Health & Safety, Food Safety, and equipment use.
• Assist with additional team duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong passion for providing exceptional customer service.
• Retail experience preferred but equivalent education and experience considered.
• Must be at least 18 and hold (or be willing to obtain) Smart Serve certification for alcohol-selling locations.
• Ability to work independently with great attention to detail and pride in standards.
• Good communication and organizational skills, thriving in a team-oriented setting.
• Mathematical skills with high accuracy in handling payments.
• Capable of managing physical demands including standing for long periods, lifting, repetitive tasks, and working in cool environments.
• Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English required; French language skills are an asset.
