Job Overview

The role involves preparing ingredients for cooking by portioning, chopping, and properly storing food items. It includes washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. The incumbent is expected to prepare and cook food following standardized recipes, maintain quality and presentation, and prepare cold foods. Operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers is required, along with testing foods for proper doneness and monitoring food quality throughout preparation.

Work Environment and Responsibilities

This position requires setting up and dismantling the workstation and serving food in appropriate portions to suitable containers. Maintaining cleanliness by washing and disinfecting the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and cooking equipment is essential. The employee must ensure that appliance and food temperatures meet required standards. Compliance with all company safety and security protocols, reporting maintenance issues and unsafe conditions, and completing required safety training are mandatory. The role also requires maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting confidential information and company assets, and communicating clearly and professionally.

Teamwork and Physical Requirements

Developing positive working relationships and supporting team goals is important. Listening and responding appropriately to colleagues' concerns is expected. The job involves physical activities, such as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, lifting or carrying items up to 25 pounds without assistance, and other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
