Commodity Lead

Role overview

This position is focused on growing a bank’s foreign exchange and commodity hedging business across Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt. The objective is to expand risk management income and encourage more clients to use hedging products that help protect against currency and commodity price movements.

The role covers the creation of a broad hedging offering for different client groups, delivery channels, and product sets. It also involves helping to take hedging solutions to market, from simpler products through to more advanced structured offerings, while improving product depth, platform connectivity, and market reach.

Experience and background

A minimum of 12 years of banking experience is required. Suitable experience includes Corporate Banking, Institutional Banking, Coverage, Transaction Banking, Markets, or Sales Management.

Applicants should have a track record of building or leading sales coverage, client relationship management, or operating model transformation work. Experience across multiple product teams and stakeholder groups is important, and involvement in large-scale banking transformation initiatives is preferred.

Functional knowledge

The role calls for a strong understanding of Coverage, Relationship Management, and Product operating structures, along with in-depth knowledge of GTB, GSF, GM, GAM, and FAM business lines. A strong commercial orientation and the ability to grow revenue and client penetration are essential.

Additional strengths needed include experience in organizational design, governance, and operating model change, plus the ability to work closely with senior stakeholders and align different business areas. Strong analytical ability, strategic thinking, and change management capability are also required.
