Content Designer

Position Summary

We are recruiting a seasoned Content Designer to become part of a dynamic User Centred Design (UCD) group delivering accessible and user-oriented digital services for the public sector.

Location and Work Mode

This role is based in Manchester, Newcastle, Blackpool, or Sheffield. It requires occasional onsite presence approximately once or twice monthly for activities including sprint meetings, complemented by remote work.

Security and Compensation

Candidates must be Security Cleared (SC) eligible or able to obtain SC clearance. The contract offers a daily rate up to £400, operating inside IR35 regulations.

Core Responsibilities

• Crafting content that is accessible, easily understandable in plain English, and aligned with established content workflows, patterns, and design standards.
• Utilizing both quantitative and qualitative research to guide content decision-making processes.
• Conducting content testing and effectively communicating findings through varied presentation methods.
• Actively collaborating within multidisciplinary Agile teams to ensure seamless integration of content design.
• Advocating for user-centred, evidence-driven content design practices among stakeholders.
• Operating proficiently within Agile delivery models.

Preferred Experience

• Proficiency with design and prototyping software such as Figma, Lucidchart, Mural, Sketch, or related tools for content arrangement and wireframing tasks.
• Experience working on digital service projects, specifically within government or public sector organizations.
