Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Creative Producer to join our Production team. This role oversees the entire lifecycle of projects involving live-action, animation, and design—from initial concept and scripting through creative treatments, pre-production, production, and final delivery. The producer will maintain active communication with clients nationwide, ensuring transparency, support, and enthusiasm for the work being produced.
Reporting to the Head of Production, the successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse team of internal staff and freelancers. The portfolio includes producing animation, live-action videos, and design projects predominantly for government, NGO, and enterprise clients. Additionally, the role involves crafting compelling creative treatments that aid in securing new work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage production processes end-to-end across live-action, animation, and design disciplines, from concept to delivery.
- Coordinate and direct crews, talent, animators, designers, and freelance creatives to realize project concepts.
- Handle live-action shoot logistics including location scouting, equipment management, and ensuring safety protocols.
- Oversee creative development to align style frames, storyboards, and visual direction with client briefs and brand standards.
- Maintain detailed schedules, project documentation, and tracking mechanisms to ensure timely and within-scope delivery.
- Develop and present creative treatments, concepts, and pitch decks to both prospective and existing clients alongside sales teams.
- Translate client briefs into engaging creative proposals that support winning new projects.
- Support sales with rapid-turnaround creative treatments when necessary.
- Lead and manage project teams, including offshore staff and freelancers, while providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Provide transparency regarding production capacity, delivery status, and potential issues, contributing to continuous improvement of production operations.
- Serve as the primary client contact, managing expectations, approvals, and feedback effectively at all stages.
- Build and nurture long-term client relationships through proactive and clear communications.
- Identify natural upsell and cross-sell opportunities during project delivery and collaborate with sales to capitalize on these.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience in producing projects across live-action, animation, and design formats.
- Strong capability in drafting creative treatments and confidently presenting ideas that successfully secure work.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing external freelancers and suppliers.
- Exceptional project and stakeholder management skills with a record of delivering projects on schedule and budget.
- Excellent communication skills, balancing creative vision with commercial objectives in a clear and structured manner.
- Proactive problem-solving aptitude to identify and resolve risks or challenges before escalation.
- Ability to enhance team capabilities by providing clear feedback and direction.
- Promotes accountability and consistency within delivery teams.
- Competent in systemizing and streamlining production functions to support growth.
Working Conditions
- Work is conducted during Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).
- This position supports remote work, ideally candidates will be based in Melbourne or Sydney, with the Melbourne team averaging two in-office days weekly.
- Occasional travel for interstate meetings and an annual team trip to the Philippines may be required.
Company Values
- Seamless: Humble, adaptable, and easy to collaborate with, delivering a smooth experience without surprises.
- Hustle: Energetic, responsive, and dedicated to doing what it takes.
- Ownership: Proactive, transparent, and acting for the greater good of the company.
- Excellent: Ambitious with a commitment to constantly raise standards.
