CSSD Technician

Main Purpose

This role is responsible for the thorough disinfection, inspection, assembly, sterilisation, proper storage, and timely distribution of medical and surgical instruments to operating theatres and wards. These activities must align with the organisation's quality standards, patient safety protocols, and adhere to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sterilisation and associated tasks for medical and surgical tools strictly following company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation and conduct audits on relevant records as per hospital policies.
• Contribute to quality improvement projects within the CSSD (Central Sterile Services Department).

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a recognised qualification in CSSD from an accredited institution.
• Have a minimum of four years' experience working in a CSSD department.
• Hold or be eligible to obtain licensure as a CSSD Technician authorized by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Competency in using computers and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of sterilisation principles and procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control guidelines.
