Customs Agent

Role Overview

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Customs Agent for a client specializing in engineering distribution located in Cork. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in import and export regulations as well as tariff calculations.

Responsibilities

The appointed individual will ensure compliance with all Irish and European Union customs regulations and legislation. They will be responsible for accurately calculating applicable tariffs and duties to maintain competitive costs. The role involves managing all aspects of customs clearance, including completing import documentation, supporting paperwork, and schedules.

Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Two to three years of demonstrable experience handling customs clearance in Ireland.
• Clear understanding of Irish Revenue guidelines related to customs procedures.
• Familiarity with bonded warehouse operations and their documentation requirements.
• Working knowledge of customs import/export procedures, CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism), tariffs, and Incoterms.
• Knowledgeable about VAT, customs duties, and Eur1 certificates.
• Must be based in Cork and legally eligible to work in Ireland, as this role requires physical presence in the office.
