About the Role

Paragon Cyber Solutions is on the lookout for a dedicated and proficient Cyber Security Engineer to contribute to a critical defense project. This role involves executing, overseeing, and advancing cybersecurity protections within enterprise environments. The selected individual will collaborate closely with senior engineers and operations teams to enhance security operations, threat detection, vulnerability mitigation, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and uphold cybersecurity measures across enterprise systems.
Provide support for technologies such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
Engage actively in managing vulnerabilities and remediation processes.
Carry out security monitoring, conduct analysis, and assist in incident response.
Participate in threat modeling exercises and security risk assessments.
Maintain secure configuration baselines and system security standards.
Assist compliance efforts aligned with frameworks like NIST and CIS.
Investigate security alerts and participate in threat hunting activities.
Help with deployment and optimization of security tools.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Between 2 to 4 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering roles.
Proven background in supporting security operations and implementing cybersecurity controls.

Technical Knowledge

Experience with SIEM platforms.
Hands-on familiarity with IDS/IPS technologies.
Knowledge of Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools.
Understanding of firewall technologies.

Competence in threat modeling and vulnerability management.
Ability to maintain secure configuration baselines.
Knowledgeable about NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS controls, and other security compliance standards.

Preferred Credentials

Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or other comparable industry-recognized qualifications.
Experience using CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Splunk Enterprise Security.
