Role Overview

As a Data Engineer at the Senior Consultant or Manager level, you will architect, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions that deliver substantial business value. Working collaboratively with data professionals, program teams, management, and stakeholders, you will translate business needs into detailed technical requirements. You will bridge communication between business groups and technical teams ensuring development aligns with intended objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clearly articulate the pros and cons of various data engineering solutions to both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
  • Design, build, and manage scalable data architectures on-premises or cloud-based, supporting data storage, integration, validation, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Engage strongly with stakeholders, produce weekly progress reports, and assist in managing project budgets.
  • Lead and coordinate junior team members to maintain focus and meet team objectives.
  • Create data models and diagrams using ER Studio including both logical and physical designs.
  • Utilize technologies such as Databricks Data Platform, Azure Data Factory, Python, SQL, Azure DevOps, and Power BI reporting, with at least a year of experience in these.
  • Work with and adapt data ingestion patterns in alignment with architectural guidance.

Skills and Attributes

  • Experience in building data pipelines using technologies like Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Genie, Azure DevOps, and Unity Catalog.
  • Preferably some background in manufacturing or supply chain sectors, though not mandatory.
  • Strong demonstrated ability to transform large, complex data sets from source systems into target platforms, with experience in Azure and Databricks, focused on SAP ECC or SAP S/4 HANA.
