Data & Product Support Manager

Position Overview

The Data and Product Support Manager oversees a diverse set of responsibilities throughout the lifecycle of products developed and certified within the R&D Engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all activities related to product support.
• Oversee and prioritize the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes, ensuring timely processing and completion of ECOs.
• Maintain engineering data quality control and manage changes regarding service letter creation, parts, Bill of Materials (BOM), service manual updates, and master drawing lists; additionally, handle FAA routing for both major and minor document updates.
• Coordinate with the FAA on product Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and validations, and keep the STC database current for the sales team.
• Ensure seamless transition of completed R&D projects into Manufacturing.
• Support accident investigations by assisting entities such as the NTSB and international equivalents, providing system research and reporting as needed.
• Lead foreign certification efforts.
• Promote and sustain positive, collaborative relationships among the Engineering Department, management, peers, employees, and the larger organization.

Primary Duties

• Supervise Data and Product Support Engineers along with support personnel.
• Establish priorities for ECRs and ECOs aligned with safety considerations and organizational strategies.
• Manage and implement significant engineering projects within the department.
• Adhere to departmental procedures to guarantee effective communication of product data and configuration changes across the company.

Education, Experience, and Credentials

• Preferred qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering fields. Equivalent aerospace experience in maintenance, project management, or support may substitute for degree requirements.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
• At least six years of hands-on aerospace or engineering experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Familiarity with FAA certification processes including new product introductions, parts, manufacturing methods, aerospace drawings, and documentation control standards.
• Capacity to make informed design decisions and progress projects using available data, employing analytical thinking to select optimal design approaches.
• Capability to engage senior leadership, comprehend executive directives, and translate them into actionable tasks for the team members to advance projects.
• Strong leadership and managerial capabilities, effective collaboration with organizational leadership to meet operational and strategic goals.
• Ability to supervise, delegate, set objectives, and motivate employees effectively.
• Excellent planning, prioritization, coordination, and self-management skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with the ability to work independently and solve problems innovatively.
• Physical ability to occasionally lift supplies and equipment weighing over 50 pounds.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of understanding and following instructions clearly for internal and external communications.
• Capability to remain seated at a desk and perform extended computer-based work hours.
